Bear, Delaware (September 11, 2017) – A 36-year-old male pedestrian was injured in a collision with a vehicle at an intersection in Bear, New Castle, on Monday morning.
According to a report by the New Castle County Paramedics and Christiana Fire Company, the incident happened at about 6 a.m. September 11, at the intersection of Howell School Road and Woods Road.
An official confirmed that the man had suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Christiana Hospital by ambulance.

Lincoln, Delaware (September 9, 2017) – One person who was hit by a southbound Delmarva Central Railroad train died in Lincoln on Thursday, according to officers.

The deadly accident took place at about 9:25 p.m. September 7, south of Lincoln, Sussex County.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the crash site. The operator managed to bring the train to a stop following the incident.

The identity of the deceased had not been released yet pending family notification.

Milford, Delaware (September 8, 2017) – 76-year-old Thomas H. Draper of Milford, longtime owner of WBOC-TV, died in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Milford on Thursday morning.

Delaware State Police say the accident happened at about 7:30 a.m. September 7, on Slaughter Beach Road near Wells Road in Milford.

As per the statement, Thomas was riding his bicycle eastbound on the road, when he was hit by a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old Shawn E. Armstrong of Lewes.

Thomas sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, and later flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in critical condition, where he later died.

Shawn was uninjured in the crash.

Delaware State Police are investigating the fatal crash.

Pike Creek, Delaware (September 7, 2017) – 27-year-old Michael Bellafore was killed and two others injured in a 2-vehicle collision in Pike Creek, New Castle County on Sunday morning.

According to a police report, the collision happened at about 1:45 a.m. September 3 in the 4600 block of New Linden Hill Road.

A Volkswagen and a Cadillac were involved in the collision.

Bellafore was driving the Cadillac when for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line into the northbound lanes and collided with the Volkswagen.

Bellafore, who was not wearing a seatbelt was killed in the collision.

A passenger in the front seat of the Cadillac suffered serious injuries, while the 16-year-old driver of the sustained non-life threatening injuries. The two were taken to Christiana Hospital.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing. The police, however, established that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Milford, Delaware (September 7, 2017) – According to the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, a bicyclist was critically injured after he collided with a truck in Sussex County Thursday.
The serious accident took place at about 7:35 a.m. on Slaughter Beach Road in the area of Wells Road in Milford.
As per an officer, a man identified as Thomas H. Draper, 76 from Milford was riding his bicycle on Slaughter Beach Road when he was hit by Shawn E. Armstrong from Lewes, driving a 2013 Ford F 150 pickup truck that was heading eastbound on Slaughter Beach Road.
The truck stopped immediately after the crash and called 9-1-1. Draper was taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital before being flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma in critical condition.
Armstrong was not hurt in the collision.
Slaughter Beach Road was blocked for nearly three hours to pave the way for investigation and clearance of the scene.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Sandtown, Delaware (September 7, 2017) – According to Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian occurred on Tuesday night in Kent County.
The deadly incident took place at about 9:07 p.m. September 5, westbound on the shoulder of Willow Grove Road also known as SR10 east of Sandtown Road.
A man identified by an officer as Robert L. Coberly, 35, from Felton, was walking his dog on SR10 when a car of unknown make and model heading westbound on the SR10 hit and threw him into a tax ditch on the north side of the roadway near his home.
The car then fled the scene and traveled westbound.
Kent County Paramedics responded to the crash and pronounced Coberly dead at the crash site. His dog ran back to the residence and was not hurt.
SR10 was closed between Sandtown Road, and Mahon Corner Road was closed for about four hours for clearance of the crash scene and to pave the way for investigation.
